The short version: Your videos never leave your device. Still image frames are sent to our AI for analysis but are not stored. All your personal data is stored locally on your device. You can export or delete everything at any time. We never sell your information.
1. What Stays on Your Device
Perfect Form Athletes is built with a privacy-first architecture. The following data is stored exclusively on your device and never transmitted to our servers:
- Uploaded videos — NEVER sent to any server. All video processing happens entirely in your browser.
- Full analysis history — Scores, recommendations, and training progress are stored locally.
- Training session completion records — All records of completed sessions remain on your device.
- Saved drills and favorites — Your bookmarked drills stay on your device.
- Practice plans — Any practice plans are stored locally.
2. What We Send to Our AI Coach
When you request an analysis, the app extracts still image frames (not video) from your video on your device, then sends only those still images to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis.
- Still image frames are extracted on-device and sent to Anthropic's Claude AI
- All transmissions use encrypted HTTPS
- Anthropic processes the frames and does not store them after processing
- We do not store frames on our servers
While your video never leaves your device, extracted still images from the video are temporarily sent to our AI service for analysis. These images are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored.
3. What We Store on Our Servers
We store minimal data on our servers:
- Account information — Hashed email address, name, and subscription status.
- Share with Coach data — If you enable coach sharing, your analysis scores and progress are shared with your designated coach. You can revoke this access at any time.
- Anonymized trend data — We collect anonymized data including sport, action type, score brackets, age bracket, and region (derived from timezone only). This data contains NO names, emails, videos, images, or personally identifiable information. It is used solely to improve coaching recommendations. You can opt out in Settings.
4. What We Never Do
- We never sell your personal data to third parties
- We never share your data with advertisers
- We never store your videos on any server
- We never use personal analysis data for any purpose other than coaching you
- We never share individual results without your explicit consent
5. Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Export — Download all your data at any time from Settings.
- Delete — Delete your account and all server-side data from Settings.
- Revoke sharing — Remove coach access to your data at any time.
- Opt out — Disable anonymized trend data collection in Settings.

- HTTPS encryption for all data transmissions
- Password hashing — passwords are never stored in plain text
- Token expiration — JWT authentication tokens expire after 30 days
- Access restrictions — server-side data access is restricted
8. Children's Privacy
Perfect Form Athletes is designed for athletes of all ages, including minors.
- Athletes under 13 require a parent or guardian to manage their account.
- We collect minimal personal information, with the majority stored on-device.
- Parents can export or delete their child's data at any time.
